Tune In: BECON-TV Launches 13th Season of School Duel

BECON-TV proudly announces the launch of the 13th season of School Duel, the popular academic quiz show, which highlights the knowledge and skills of high school students from across South Florida. The scholastic competition, presented by Chick-fil-A and BrightStar Credit Union, promises to keep the same excitement and academic excellence for its audiences.

Beginning Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 8 p.m., 24 high schools will be competing in a fast-paced, single-elimination tournament. Each episode sets two teams of high school students to compete in a battle of intellect and quick thinking, answering questions on a variety of subjects, including history, literature, math, arts, science and more.

School Duel host Lisa Lee Arneaud will welcome 16 teams from Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), including Blanche Ely High School, Coral Glades High School, Coral Springs High School, Cooper City High School, Cypress Bay High School, Everglades High School, Hallandale High School, J.P. Taravella High School, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Miramar High School, Monarch High School, Northeast High School, Nova High School, Plantation High School, Sheridan Technical High School and West Broward High School. In addition to these BCPS schools, the show also features student teams from Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties.

The winning teams are awarded Chick-fil-A vouchers that are valid for an entire year, while runner-up teams receive prizes from show sponsors, including cash prizes from BrightStar Credit Union and Publix Supermarkets. All student participants are also presented with School Duel trophies from EDCO Awards & Specialties.

Tune in to BECON-TV every Thursday at 8 p.m. starting March 2, 2023, with the final episode airing Thursday, May 18, 2023. Each week’s episode will also rebroadcast on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m.
