City of Miami To Bestow Special Recognition To Rocio Monasterio And Herman Tertsch To Be Named Ambassadors Of Cuban Exiles In Spain

This Thursday, February 21, 2023, at noon, at the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, 1200 SW 22 St, Miami, FL the Museum and the Inspire America Foundation, joined by the Asamblea de la Resistencia Cubana, will confer the title of Ambassador of Cuban Exiles, to Rocio Monasterio and Herman Tertsch for their inspiring advocacy for freedom in Cuba. They will also receive a special recognition from the City of Miami.

Rocio Monasterio is the President of Vox in Madrid and a member of the Madrid Assembly. Monasterio, whose parents fled Cuba to Spain has used her excellent command of Spanish media, to raise awareness of the struggle for freedom on the island.

Herman Tertsch, a member of the European Parliament, and the leader of the Vox delegation to the European Parliament, and Chair of the Influential European Conservatives and Reformist Bloc within the European Parliament. Tertsch has used his position to denounce European aid to Cuba’s dictatorial regime.

“As Cuban exiles, it is important to recognize those allies who raise their voice for the voiceless in Cuba,” said Marcell Felipe, Chairman of the Inspire America Foundation, and the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora. “After the uprisings of July 11th and death of General Luis Alberto Rodriguez Lopez-Callejas, the Castro regime is finally on life support, and betting on funding from the United States and Europe to prolong its life, those recognizing those who selflessly promote Cuba’s freedom in Brussels and Washington has become a moral obligation.”

The Inspire America Foundation, the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora and the Asamblea de la Resistencia Cubana are amongst the leading voices for Cuba’s freedom outside the island.
