Yesterday, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) hosted its annual International Women’s Committee (IWC) Luncheon with supporting sponsorship by The Related Group. The celebration commemorates women in the community who have had a major impact on the arts. Honoring Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, an important Venezuelan art collector and philanthropist who focuses on Latin American modernist and contemporary art, the event brought together over 200 members and supporters from the fields of art, business, fashion, and philanthropy.

“We’re thrilled to come together for this year’s edition of the International Women’s Committee Luncheon, and to celebrate women like Patricia Phelps de Cisneros who have had a profound impact on the arts throughout the years,” said International Women’s Committee Chair Darlene Boytell Pérez. “With each gathering and initiative this group of remarkable women embarks on, we’re making measurable strides in our mission of furthering a more balanced representation of women among artists, institutions, collectors and galleries.”

Hosted by the IWC Steering Committee which includes Trixie Belo-Osagie, Mireille Chancy Gonzalez, Carol Damian, Mindy Solomon, and Jill Ginsberg, the exclusive celebratory luncheon included a warm welcome from PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans and remarks by Darlene Boytell Pérez, Maritza Lacayo, Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, and Trixie Belo-Osagie.

The International Women’s Committee is composed of women committed to celebrating the diverse and global nature of the museum’s exhibition programming, tapping into the vibrant and diverse Miami community. The mission of IWC is to create a platform to celebrate women in the visual arts and to further a more balanced representation of women among artists, institutions, collectors, and galleries. All membership fees and donations to IWC support exhibitions by female artists at PAMM, which have included Teresita Fernandez, Simone Leigh, and Liliana Porter.
