George Neary is back at the Miami Design Preservation League as Interim Executive Director. MDPL is excited to welcome him!

“I’m thrilled to return to the Miami Design Preservation League and highlight its mission and importance to Miami Beach and the surrounding areas,” says Mr. Neary, who brings with him a wealth of experience in cultural tourism, the arts, and community engagement.

From 1998 to 2018, he served as the Associate Vice President of Cultural Tourism for the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and he is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Tours “R” Us, a cultural and historic domestic & international tour company.

Before his tenure at the GMCVB, Mr. Neary was the Executive Director of the Miami Design Preservation League from 1991-98, leading marketing and public relations initiatives to preserve and promote Miami Beach’s iconic Art Deco District.

Mr. Neary has also been deeply involved in the arts and education communities. He is the former Board of Advisors Chair for the Design & Architecture Senior High (DASH) and has served on the Board of the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, where he also functioned as Fundraising Chair for five years.

Mr. Neary contributes to cultural preservation and community development through his past & present service on several boards, including the Ancient Spanish Monastery Board of Trustees, the Dade Heritage Trust Board of Trustees, and as a founding member of the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council.
