2026 Clean Air Calendar Poster Contest (Broward County K-12 Students Only)

2026 CONTEST THEME: Level Up Against Climate Change

ELIGIBILITY: The contest is free and open to all K-12 students residing in Broward County.

Would you like to create a video game scene with your climate change ideas for the chance to win prizes?
It’s a video game designer’s job to create exciting landscapes where characters interact with their environment, overcome challenges, and save the day. Drawing inspiration from video games, Broward County’s Air Program is asking students to imagine a world where the objective is to combat climate change by reducing the specific climate change-related effects that we see in South Florida, such as flooding, extreme heat, air pollution, hurricanes, and more.

Examples Of How We Can Adapt To These Effects Include:
• Planting mangroves along coastal areas to prevent erosion and reduce flooding
• Building energy-efficient structures with green roofs to reduce heat island effects
• Using green transportation to reduce air pollution

• Encouraging tree planting to keep our air clean
• Creating better infrastructure (such as roads, power supplies, or buildings) to lessen the impacts of storms

This can be depicted through hand-drawn artwork, digital art/media (subject to AI checkers), or photography. Please be mindful of any copyright infringement. For example, do not mention names of video games in your artwork or in your paragraph.

Please read the rules and guidelines to ensure your artwork qualifies. This contest requires a parental release form. Please visit Broward county’s official contest web page for more details.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Entries must be received by Broward County’s Air Program by close of business on Friday, April 18, 2025.
